Hyacinth, artemisia and galbanum in niche and luxury fragrances
by Verano Fragrance almost 3 years ago

Serge Lutens has always loved experimenting with fragrances: the brand's portfolio includes rahat lokum (Louve), mentholated tuberose (Tubéreuse Criminelle), and one of the most radical animalistic perfumes (Muscs Koublai Khan). But many admit that they did not expect an aroma inspired by fibreglass from the maestro. Laine de Verre is clean and fresh, so it blends perfectly with the coolness of spring air. The smell of cold glass is conveyed through notes of blooming lemon, magnolia, sage, mint, and synthetic cashmere.
"The inspiration for creating this fragrance came from the contradictions and paranoia of the modern, 'electronic' age. The noise of everyday life, surveillance, wires, information technology (a covert listening device, more commonly known as a bug or a wire). The fragrance has a complex yet elegant concept. It transforms on the skin, revealing one element after another. Elemi (Canarium luzonicum) and labdanum pulse like veins and give the scent a sense of triumph. It may first repel, then draw you back in to inhale it again and notice the transformation."

By the beginning of spring, you already want to wear completely different fragrances than in winter: green and refreshing ones, like a cool breeze, in which breathing is as easy and free as in a May forest - like, for example, Lush The Bug. Although its composition contains neither herbs nor delicate flowers - only pepper, sandalwood and sweet tonka beans - it appears before you as the unique scent.

The Amouage fragrances from Christopher Chong's time, placed in pastel-colored bottles, are appreciated differently by fans and perfume bloggers. For some, simple and straightforward concepts and olfactory profiles are an important characteristic, while for others they are a shortcoming. In this white floral composition, the tuberose is not simple, but creamy, moderately sweet, framed by white flowers, lavender and freesia, on a noble woody-musky base. Sweet notes of apricot, fragrant violet and juicy orange blend together to reveal the entire palette of jasmine and tuberose shades, while amber and musk accompany them in the base.

The Eau de Voyage series differs from Comptoir Sud Pacifique's earlier collections with its light, volatile nature, and some fragrances, like Yucatàn Secret, have a very quiet voice. The composition of Yucatàn Secret is inspired by cenotes - lakes, wells and entire cave complexes with underground rivers and, at times, access to seawater. This is a watercolour, blurred by prolonged rains, jasmine without a stifling scent and animalistic nuances, intertwined with artemisia, bergamot and melon. The result is extremely picturesque.
