The French niche brand Floraïku has released the fragrance "Sand and Skin" as a new addition to the Forbidden Incense collection. It embodies the "dream of a sun-drenched island."

Senior Perfumer Alienor Massenet:

On a remote island, wisps of hot benzoin, warmed by the sun, blend with the irresistible scent of black pods of Madagascan vanilla... In the shade of lush vegetation, a gentle breeze carries the enchanting fragrance of ylang-ylang, refreshing the air and immersing in a delicate enchantment.

Sand and Skin is dedicated to the languor and pleasure of an eternal moment that takes place on a tropical beach, where the sun caresses the skin, leaving an unforgettable memory. The brand drew inspiration from seashells. It is a rounded, warm, and sensual composition featuring benzoin essence, ylang-ylang fraction, and Madagascan vanilla absolute. The fragrance also includes notes of amyris oil, sandalwood oil, patchouli, labdanum, and musk.

"Returning after a swim.
They meet once more.
Sand and skin."

- Haiku from the brand's press release.

Floraïku is a French niche brand founded by Clara and John Molloy, the creators of Memo Paris. While traveling through Japan, they were deeply impressed by the atmosphere surrounding them and decided to dedicate a fragrance to Asia. However, their trip left them with so many memories that the creators decided to launch a separate perfume project. The name of the brand combines "haiku," a genre of Japanese poetry, and "flower." The debut creations were released in 2017, with Sophie Labbé and Alienor Massenet as the perfumers. The main collection is built around three classical Japanese arts: sado (the way of tea), kodo (the way of incense), and ikebana (the art of flower arrangement).
